Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University: 8th May 2025
The Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura University proudly hosted the Community Awareness Evaluation and Recognition Day to honor the efforts of Semester 6 students (Cohort 2027) who actively participated in a wide-reaching public health awareness initiative. This activity marked a culminating event that showcased the students’ commitment to health promotion and community engagement through creative and evidence-based approaches.
The ceremony was held in the presence of distinguished leadership, including:

Dr. Hosam Hamed, Chief Tutor of Semester 6 and supervisor of the community awareness activity
The event was also attended by a large number of faculty members from various departments, whose presence reflected their support and encouragement for student-led community initiatives.
The student-led activity was structured around three key pillars:
* Development of bilingual (Arabic and English) educational booklets
* Implementation of ground campaigns in various community settings
* Execution of digital campaigns, including social media outreach and educational videos
Over the course of the semester, students demonstrated exceptional initiative and collaboration, transforming medical knowledge into accessible content for diverse audiences. Their work addressed a broad spectrum of public health topics, ranging from chronic illnesses and mental health to organ failure and preventive care.
During the event, students presented their educational videos, and a curated poster exhibition was held in the hall lobby to highlight the scope and impact of their fieldwork.
As part of the celebration, outstanding groups were recognized across several award categories. In addition to honoring the Top Three Educational Videos, groups were commended for excellence in:
* Innovative Topic
* Society Campaigns
* Social Network Activity
* Student Performance
* Comprehensive English Booklet
* Evidence-based English Booklet
* Evidence-based Arabic Booklet
* Society-Friendly Writing
* Creativity
Additionally, a special student-voted prize was awarded for the Best Educational Video from the students' perspective, based on live electronic voting conducted during the event. This award reflected peer appreciation and highlighted the importance of student engagement and audience impact.
The Community Awareness Activity reflects the core mission of the Mansoura-Manchester Program to empower future physicians with the knowledge, communication skills, and social responsibility needed to serve both patients and the broader community. The success of this initiative stands as a testament to the dedication of our students, the guidance of their academic mentors, and the ongoing commitment of the Faculty of Medicine to community-based medical education.
