* Requirements:

Acceptance rule

  • Egyptian students must be accepted by Mansoura Faculty of Medicine or transferred to it by the National Office (for equivalent degrees) according to the national scoring and distribution of the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education.
  • International students should apply through General Department of Education and Student Affairs and the Department of expatriates.

New Students Requirements:-

First:New Students

Applicants submit a file to the students affairs of the Faculty of Medicine including:

  1. Original birth certificate.
  2. Original high school certificate
  3. Copy of the nomination card
  4. Copy of National ID card
  5. Recruitment form for males
  6. Medical examination procedure
  7. Personal Photos
  8. Copy of the receipt of the college expenses
  9. Then submit a copy of this file contents to the affairs of students Mansoura Manchester Medical Education Program.

 

Second: Transferred Students

Mansoura Manchester accepted transferred students from one of the corresponding colleges. The admission required documents for transferred students are:

  1. Copy of the nomination card (for the college transferring it)
  2. Copy of birth certificate or passport if any
  3. Copy of National ID card
  4. Copy of high school certificate
  5. Personal Photos .
  1. Copy of the receipt of the expenses

Admission Regulation:-

According to faculty system and regulation that are accredited by the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities, a student gets bachelor degree if he/she completes the credit hours required for graduation.

All courses that the student registers are calculated in standard units called credit hours that equal 1 hour (1 academic lecture) per week for a semester, and equal 2 hours (2 practical or tutorial sections) per week for a semester.

Academic Semesters And Language:-

Academic Year
  • The academic year consists of 2 academic semesters.
  • each semester is 14-16 weeks followed by the final examination.
Official Academic Language
  • English language is the academic study language in Mansoura Manchester program

Academic Standards:-

Mansoura Manchester has awarded accrediation by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) in 2017.

 

Methods of Assessment

Semester Ongoing and Final Assessments:

Ongoing Assessments: 20% of the total mark will be awarded to the activity in the class, presentation at weekly student's presentations, a mid-semester MCQ exam and the SSC Essay/poster.

 

Final (Summative) Assessments:80% consists of 3 types of exam papers:

1: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

The examination will include multiple choice questions (MCQs) with a choice of a single best answer from 5 options, cross matching, and extended matching questions (EMQs).  Negative marking will not be used; a wrong answer will be awarded zero mark.

2: Short Essay Exam:

The questions are short and targeted. No open end questions will be used. A model answer for each question is included to standardize marking.

3. Objective Structured Practical and Clinical Examination (OSPE and OSCE):

The Objective Structured Practical and Clinical Examination (OSPE and OSCE) test your ability to demonstrate competence in some of the skills you have learnt.

NB: There are no oral exams throughout the programme.

 Re-sits examinations:

  • If the student failed during the first semester of the academic year (January), he/she will be allowed to move to the next semester, and re-sit the exam in the summer (July).
  • If the student failed the second semester exam (June), he/she will have a re-sit exam in the summer (August).
  • A summer exam (July/August) is planned for students who failed any semester during the course.
  • If the student failed the summer exam, he/she will repeat that semester during the next year.
  • If the student failed that semester again during the next year, he/she will have a final chance in the summer.
  • If the student failed in the summer (4th attempt) his registration is cancelled.

 

* Tution fees:

The fees are determined at the beginning of each academic year. Fees are paid in Egyptian currency for Egyptian students and in US dollars for international students.

  • 50 thousand Egyptian pounds for new Egyptian students.
  • $ 8,000 for international students.

Egyptian student: through the treasury where the deal is through a visa or transfer to the bank after taking a receipt of the amount of the treasury.

  • Foreign students: through a recent date check accepted to pay or cash through the Suez Canal Bank.

 

 

Scholarships:

  • The program awards 10% of the number of students admitted to the first semester free of charge grants to top Egyptian students (high school). To keep their grants, students' must achieve excellent scores.
  • The program grants one scholarship (free of charge) to a student from each African country in line with the policy of Egypt in encouraging students coming from African countries.

Discounts and Awards

  • The top 10 students are awarded 50% reduction of their fees in the subsequent year irrespective of their nationalities.
  • Student who has a brother or sister in the program shall be given a discount of 20% of the prescribed fees.

The Conditions  For The Continued Scholarship :

Students receiving scholarship will maintain their scholarship so long as they maintain the commitment to excellence. The students support department (SSD) is responsible for following up the students' academic level who receive scholarship to ensure their commitment to excellence.

The university’s role is not only scientific one but it exceeds to play major role in all activities that can support the student through his /her study. This will be done through presenting variable program which prepare the student to face life responsibilities after graduation this in turn will make the faculty a source of spreading cultural, social, and scientific ideas.

3- Mansoura University Students Hospital

  • Great medical service center run by the university doctors and nurses.
  • Allowed booking of clinics online throught computers or mobiles through the following steps:
    • Download (MU student portal) program from play store
    • Get user name and password from Faculty students affairs
    • Choose your system of study either conventional or credit hours.
    • Book the required medical examination.
    • Set to the clinics of University Students Hospital in the selected day, bringing your therapeutic card.

4- University Library

Providing computer labs and wireless Internet and a comprehensive library of the latest scientific references

Advising:

Students are distributed to academic advisers from staff members. The academic advisor might be the student's advisor till graduation.

Duties Of The Academic Advisor:

An academic advisor is responsible for providing educational guidance and assistance for students by planning schedules, recommending courses and determining appropriate education solutions for different types of students. They must also follow through and track the advancement of students. Additionally, academic advisors must provide case management to students who do not meet local educational requirements. Academic advisors also provide assistance for at-risk students.
